Last Goodbye..
It's so hard to say goodbye to my favorite place in the world.
What can I say about the Family Cabin? It's the place Russ and I spent our Honeymoon, a place we have all taken our kids, pets, friends just to have fun times and get away from everything.
With Dad gone, Mom felt like she needed to sell it to get away from all the upkeep and worries so Russ and I, Val and Dal and Erin took one last trip. It was a bitter sweet trip for me. I started crying the minute we drove through the gate knowing I would never see this place again. I have alot of bitterness and hurt feelings about the whole deal but I won't get into that now.
Everywhere I looked in the cabin reminded me of My Dad and when I sat in his chair I could smell my Dad's smell, lets just say I lost my mind. Saying Goodbye to the cabin was just like saying goodbye to Dad all over again. I made the best of it by thinking of happy memories and Carving a little note to my Dad on a tree.
Thank you to my Friends and my hubbie for being there for me and especially when they could tell I was going down,,cracking me up and bringing me back to silly land. You guys mean the world to me.

My Hero My Dad
June 5Th at 6:30 am I got the Call I never wanted to get, It was my Mom saying "Laurie,He's gone" everything that happened that day is kind of a blur to me except for the time I got to spend with him in his Bedroom. Russ had to go up AF canyon to get my Brother so we had about 4 hours with Dad until they took him away.
I will always be so Thankful for that time and so Thankful for Russ, I could never have gotten through this without him he was my Rock..
Dad told me a long time ago that he wanted That's my Job played at his funeral,I don't know how I remembered that but I did...here are the lyrics. I LOVE YOU DAD!!TILL WE MEET AGAIN.
THAT'S MY JOB..Conway Twitty.
I woke up crying late at night
when I was very young.
I had dreamed my father
had passed away and gone.
My world revolved around him
I couldn't lay there anymore.
So I made my way down the mirrored hall
and tapped upon his door.
And I said "Daddy, I'm so afraid
how will I go on with you gone that way?
Don't wanna cry anymore
so may I stay with you?"
And he said "That's my job,
that's what I do.
Everything I do is because of you,
To keep you safe with me.
That's my job you see."
Later we barely got along
this teenage boy and he.
Most of the fights it seems
were over different dreams,
we each held for me.
He wanted knowledge and learning.
I wanted to fly out west.
Said, "I could make it out there
if I just had the fare.
I got half, will you loan me the rest?"
And I said "Daddy, I'm so afraid,
there's no guarantee in the plans
I've made and if I should fail,
who will pay my way back home?"
And he said "That's my job
that's what I do.
Everything I do is because of you
to keep you safe with me.
That's my job you see."
Every person carves his spot
and fills the hole with light.
And I pray someday I might
light as bright as he.
Woke up early one bright fall day
to spread the tragic news.
After all my travel, I settled down
within a mile or two.
I make my living with words and rhyme
and all this tragedy
Should go into my head and out instead
as bits of poetry.
But I say "Daddy, I'm so afraid,
how will I go on with you gone this way?
How can I come up with a song to say
I love you?"
That's my job, That's what I do
Everything I do is because of you
to keep you safe with me.
That's my job you see.
Everything I do is because of you
to keep you safe with me.

HIgh School Graduate

Well, It Finally happened, Bayli Graduated! actually I can't believe how fast time flew by. I can still see her on the first day of kindergarten(even what she was wearing)and how I cried all the way home after leaving my helpless little girl with strangers, I will admit that I did get over that pretty quick.
Now it's a new Era for Bayli and for us..July 12 she will be starting College. She is going to The Art Institute of Salt Lake.
I know she is going to be an Awesome photographer (she already is) and this is something she loves to do so College will be a fun and exciting time for her. I am so proud of her and excited as well.....Love you Babe

Russ and I at the Eagles concert
So here we are at the Rio Tinto stadium, waiting for one of my dreams to come true! The other dream I have is to meet The Eagles ( like that will ever happen), But a girl can dream. The concert was awesome! They played for about 2 hours and I can honestly say..That they still got it! It's hard to believe that those guys are 60 yrs old. They still sound ,and act like they did back in 1975.
I have to say that I had a little melt down when (my boyfriend) Glenn Frey started to sing Peaceful easy feeling, Yep! I went into the Ugly cry! You would have thought I was watching Elvis or something. It was worth every penny, even though the seats were crappy, I would do it all again and will ,if they come to Utah again.
NO CAMERA OR VIDEO ALLOWED! AT $125.OO A TICKET , I THINK NOT!
This is our view of the stage. That ladies head is the lady I wanted to take out!! Can you say " Out of control drunk"? I know she seems quit calm right now, But oh how that changed. At one point Russ had to go and have a talk with the security guard about her. Never in my life have I wanted to thump someone on the back of her head as much as I wanted to this night! But I had to maintain all my control.
